  • President Joe Biden called on all Americans to reject the ‘lie’ of the ‘great replacement’ conspiracy theory 
  • I call on all Americans to reject the lie, and I condemn those who spread the lie for power, political gain, and for profit,’ Biden said 
  • ‘White supremacy is a poison. It’s a poison,’ he said 
  • Joe and Jill Biden are in Buffalo where they paid their respects at the Tops Market Memorial

  • The first couple didn’t speak as they bowed their heads at the makeshift memorial, strew with balloons, flowers, candles, and homemade signs 
  • They held a private visit with victims’ families and local authorities
  • President Biden will also deliver remarks at a nearby community center where he is expected to decry racially motivated violence 
  • ‘The President will call this despicable act for what it is: terrorism motivated by a hateful and perverse ideology that tears at the soul of our nation,’ a White House official said 
  • Payton Gendron, 18, faces and was charged with one count of murder and officials said they would weigh additional charges in the coming days
