Conservative Group Warns Elise Stefanik is a Poor Replacement for Liz Cheney in GOP Leadership

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is rumored to be getting the boot from House Republican leadership, but a top conservative group is warning that her replacement is not going to be any better.

The Club for Growth is warning that Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), a Trump favorite who is seen as a rising star in the Republican Party, would be a poor replacement for Cheney in House GOP leadership.

Stefanik sucked up to Trump by defending him during his sham impeachment hearings, but she was always a wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing pretender. She has a poor C- rating from Numbers USA, with only a 43 percent solid voting record on bills related to immigration.

Additionally, she co-sponsored the “Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act,” the deceptively-named green card giveaway to India. She voted against Trump’s national emergency declaration that provided essential funding for border security. Stefanik campaigned on amnesty for illegal aliens who arrived as minors (DREAMers) and ending family separation in 2018.

She also co-sponsored an Amnesty bill that would have given a pittance for border security in exchange for a DREAMer amnesty and restrictions on immigration enforcement. Stefanik called Trump’s detention policies “appalling” until she realized supporting them could help her career. She supports an expanded guest worker visa program that allows the agriculture industry to employ more foreign labor for a longer period of time. Stefanik also co-sponsored a bill to increase the number of green cards for Afghan refugees and opposed the travel ban and criticized the border wall as “not realistic.”.

Big League Politics has reported on the sudden and convenient turn against Cheney by her GOP establishment cronies:

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is expected to be removed from her leadership positions in U.S. Congress after joining the Democrats repeatedly to bash former president Donald Trump and his Republican constituents…

Cheney has continued to bash Trump incessantly, even after she was rebuked with a brutal censure resolution by the Wyoming Republican Party. Now, even weak and cowardly House Republicans have apparently had enough with Cheney’s insolence.

“We can’t embrace the notion the election is stolen. It’s a poison in the bloodstream of our democracy,” Cheney said during a recent conference in Sea Island, Georgia hosted by globalist Washington D.C. think-tank, the American Enterprise Institute.

“We can’t whitewash what happened on January 6 or perpetuate Trump’s big lie. It is a threat to democracy. What he did on January 6 is a line that cannot be crossed,” she added…

Even House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has apparently soured on Cheney and her lack of decency in recent days.

“I have heard from members concerned about her ability to carry out the job as conference chair, to carry out the message,” McCarthy said during a recent appearance on “Fox & Friends.” “We all need to be working as one, if we’re able to win the majority.”

Cheney’s days are numbered, and her family’s legacy will be permanently disgraced when she leaves office. It is a fitting end for a brood who sent thousands of troops to die in Iraq for a lie.”

Once again, the GOP establishment is attempting to bamboozle their conservative constituents by replacing one RINO with another. Conservatives must demand better of leadership than RINOS like Stefanik or Cheney.
