Good day, friends. We have a great community here at Conservatics. We have fun. We enjoy great conversations. We don’t stay on topic. Ever. We all came here to have a platform of free commenting, free speech and free thought. Unfortunately, even our “fee” speech is under attack. Yes, I pay to have ad-free Disqus on this website. I am tired of paying for something that censors me and censors you.
It’s time for me to put my money where my mouth is. I don’t support company’s who take a politically correct stand and I most certainly will not pay money for a broken product. I’m done. I’m done with Disqus. Disqus continually inserts “banned” words and phrased into auto-moderation and prevents you and I from saying what we want. Val and I don’t add any words to the “banned” list. Disqus does. They’ve done it several times without my approval and without me even knowing.
Disqus has launched a new moderation feature that tags any comment with would language as “Toxic”. This means Disqus could eventually mark my website as “toxic” and drop me as a customer. So, Fuck Them!
I am moving over to a new platform called FastComments. FastComments is lightweight and designed very similar to Disqus. I’ve researched and found this to be the best option for Conservatics. You will notice Disqus is no longer available on the website.
I am well aware that there are those of you who love your Disqus account and won’t want to sign up for a new account on FastComments. I would be sad to not see your comments anymore. I would petition your support in the migration to FastComments. Disqus is just not a viable option anymore; Disqus is the epitome of big tech censorship and overreach.
I appreciate all of you and I truly love the relationship we have. I have to follow my principles and say goodbye to stifled speech. I can’t monetarily support tyranny.
