One of the real oddities of the Joe Biden presidency, and there are a lot of them, is the behavior of his vice president. Kamala Harris has, in her typical fashion, tried to straddle the fence between sitting in the background and presenting herself as a transformational leader. She’s managing the border except she’s not managing the border when it becomes clear it’s become an abysmal failure.

Just as during her laughably ineffective presidential campaign, this has led to all kinds of Hillary-esque cringe, including Harris devolving into hysterical laughter multiple times when the situation simply didn’t call for it.

Yet, one of the things that has been most apparent during her tenure so far is the pure narcissism she exudes. Who can forget this beauty from Memorial Day weekend?

Or this classic, which she posted during a month which would end up falling 700,000 jobs short of expectations, the worst miss in United States history.

Well, I’m pleased to announce that vice president narcissist has a new act. She’s now making cookies of herself and handing them out to journalists.

But it’s totally not a cult, right?

I’m not sure what’s sadder. That Harris is apparently so infatuated with herself that she thought this was a good idea, or that a journalist from USA Today thought highly enough of it the move to post about it on social media. This is the kind of thing that’s so cringe that you just sweep it under the rug.

What truly makes this all so silly, though, is that Harris is genuinely disliked by most Americans. She’s not the icon she tries to play herself as and it just comes across as weird when she does stuff like this. Remember, this is a person who face-planted so hard during the 2020 primaries that she had to drop out before Iowa, and that was with the media presenting her as a transformational candidate. People just don’t like Kamala Harris, and that includes a lot of Democrats who do their darndest to pretend they do.

If we had a real press, they wouldn’t be squeeing about cookies. Rather, they’d be asking this woman why her failures, from the border to her much-ballyhooed role in Biden’s foreign policy, have become so apparent. There are real issues that affect real people going on in the country. It’d be nice if we had a vice president less concerned with glamor shots and baking her likeness and more concerned with actually solving problems. But that’s probably asking too much.
