Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., announced on Tuesday that the State of Florida is filing a lawsuit against the Biden administration over federal ongoing coronavirus restrictions.
Florida joins 20 other states that have filed legal action against the federal government’s mask requirement for airports, planes, trains, and other forms of public transportation.
Attorney General Ashley Moody filed the case with the United States District Court in Tampa, Florida. Moody and other attorney generals argue that the CDC is out of its jurisdiction by interfering with state laws that prohibit forced masking.
The Biden administration enacted the unlawful order over a year ago with an expiration date of March 18. However, it extended the rule until the middle of April.
