- The power couple have been subpoenaed in special counsel Jack Smith’s probe
- Both were interviewed by now disbanded House January 6 panel
- Follows the special counsel summoning former VP Pence, who is resisting
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have been issued subpoenas by the special counsel investigating Donald Trump‘s effort to overturn the 2020 election and his role in January 6.
Jack Smith summoned the former president’s daughter and son-in-law, just two weeks after subpoenaing Mike Pence.
Ivanka was in the White House during the Capitol riot and urged her father to address his supporters.
She was also in the Oval Office when her father asked Pence to block or delay the congressional vote to certify the election.
News of the move was first reported by the New York Times on Wednesday.
Jared Kushner flew home from the Middle East as Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, and also tried to get his father-in-law to tell them to go home.
Both were featured prominently in hearings by the House January 6 Committee after providing videotaped testimony.
They have since relocated to Florida and have given indications they have no interest in being involved in politics, and have not been involved in former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
