An often overlooked tool for any campaign is internal polling. Polling done by the campaign, usually by a private firm, can tell that campaign many things. Things like what areas they need to work on, be it demographics, messaging, or different approaches to voters. As the 2024 presidential election cycle enters the final week, both the Trump and Harris campaigns are no doubt taking closer looks at internal polling data. But Kamala Harris has a secret weapon backing up that internal polling information: her instinct.
KAMALA:
"My internal polling is my instinct"

On Sunday, Harris was asked how internal polling was outlining her campaign’s final days. As if her word salads are not incredible enough, here was her whiff of the answer:
“So to be very frank, my internal polling is my instinct. I let the campaign people deal with all that other stuff. I am responding to what I am seeing. I mean, just two nights ago we had 30,000 people show up. I think it was actually more than 30,000 people. With an incredible amount of enthusiasm, if you see the people showing up last night, every event that we do, and, the feeling is one of energy and excitement.”
Her instinct? If you are a Kamala Harris supporter, just how confident have you been in her instinct? Currently, in the all-important swing state of Pennsylvania, Donald Trump has a slim lead of 0.5 points. Among Harris’s choices for a running mate was Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro. You would think that “instinct” would have told her that choosing Shapiro would make Pennsylvania a shoo-in. But that instinct also told Democrats not to pick him because he is Jewish, and they need the Arab-American vote in Michigan. Enter Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who has been almost as big a gaffe machine as Joe Biden. There was his “friends with school shooters” remark during his debate with Sen. JD Vance (OH), his wild arm flailing and gesticulating at rallies, his exaggerating about his military service and being a football coach when he was an assistant coach.
Kamala Harris brags about an endorsement from Dick Cheney and the IRS.
Her worst political instinct was thinking this was something to tout.

Then, there is the aforementioned Barack Obama. Of course, he is still the Democrat Party superstar (much to the chagrin of Hillary Clinton), and the candidates he endorses still manage to eke out a few wins here and there, but Obama may be losing a bit of that magic he once had. This year, especially with black men. But did Kamala Harris’ “instinct” tell her it was a good move for Obama to lecture black men, a demographic she is having some real trouble with, about their misogyny for not supporting her?
After hiding from the media for the first half of her candidacy, when she finally decided to come out of hiding and do some interviews in friendly places, Kamala Harris seemed to leave her “instinct” at home for her media tour as well. The same candidate who has been desperately trying to distance herself from the Biden administration in hopes that Americans will forget she has been in office the last three-and-a-half years told “The View” girls that “there is not a thing that comes to mind,” when asked if she would do anything different than Joe Biden.
And about that Texas rally. There might have been 30,000 people showing up for a rally, but the rumor that Beyoncé would be performing might have been the draw for many of those people. Beyoncé was at the Houston rally; she is a Texas native, but she did not perform. Instead, she gave a speech and endorsed Harris. Those who showed up for a free Beyoncé concert got 91-year-old Willie Nelson. Some of those who attended the rally were not happy. Perhaps her “instinct” should have told her to secure a short performance by Beyoncé.
It’s a simple thing and even simpler to verify, but there has been no confirmation whether Kamala Harris worked at McDonald’s when she was in college. If it is not true, did her instinct tell her to lie about it?
Instinct can be a great thing…if you have it.
Lol. The last thing Kamala does is operate on instinct. Everything she does down to hand gestures is scripted. https://t.co/loRZRBHdMJ
