The forces aligned against President Donald Trump really are throwing anything up against the wall that they can in the hope of derailing his election bid.
But in the process, they’re revealing how desperate they are, when they will even attack Americans and twist anything Trump says to fit their own ends.
We saw Joe Biden calling Trump supporters “garbage,” Tim Walz implying they were Nazis, and Mark Cuban insulting the women around Trump.
Now they even have a new hoax out that the media is running with, courtesy of Trump hater Liz Cheney. Cheney claimed that Trump was threatening “those who speak against them with death,” posting a clip without full context.
This is how dictators destroy free nations. They threaten those who speak against them with death. We cannot entrust our country and our freedom to a petty, vindictive, cruel, unstable man who wants to be a tyrant. #Womenwillnotbesilenced #VoteKamala https://t.co/URH5s929Sa

But, of course, that was nonsense. Trump was talking about the fact that she was a war hawk but didn’t know what it was like to experience war herself and that if she did, maybe she would feel differently. But that didn’t stop the media from pouncing on it and running with the claim, despite the fact that it was clearly false.
Watch the full clip of President Trump saying Liz Cheney wants to send people to die in wars that she will never experience herself.
Then look at the headlines the media is writing about it.
Gee, I wonder why trust in media is at an all time low. pic.twitter.com/B8jLfHE2N4

Trump was calling out the warmongers. He didn’t say anything about a firing squad or being executed, but they throw that in there anyway.
The Kamala HQ account immediately picked up the lie and spread it.
CNN also spread it.
Jim Acosta is just running a straight up disinformation op on CNN this morning.
At no point did Donald Trump call for Liz Cheney to be shot.

Kasie Hunt from CNN is knowingly lying to her viewers about Trump’s comment on Liz Cheney wanting to send your kids to go die in wars but would never go to war herself.
They know they’re lying. It’s all they do. Pure trash. pic.twitter.com/5Ej2LK318W

This is just dishonest when the context of calling her a chicken hawk is clear.
As journalist Glen Greenwald noted in response to Hunt:
This is one of the most pathetic media lies about Trump in awhile, and that’s saying a lot.Trump was making the valid — and important — point that, like many in DC, Liz Cheney is a maniacal warmonger because it’s never her or her dad that endures the horrors of war.
Then, they wonder why people are rejecting the Democrats and the media. How can you trust anything they say when they do things like that? That tells you exactly how much what they say is worth — absolutely nothing. This is why these people can’t win.
But some folks stood up for reality, including some on the left and even Never Trumper, Joe Walsh.
Walsh called it out, saying no, Trump wasn’t calling for Cheney to be executed.
Vox’s Zach Beauchamp said Trump was only saying what the left has said about Cheney for years.
“Folks, Trump didn’t threaten to execute Liz Cheney. He actually was calling her a chickenhawk, something liberals said about her for ages. Look at the context — Trump is talking about giving her a weapon. Typically, people put in front of firing squads aren’t armed.”
The Free Press’ Kat Rosenfeld also blasted the false interpretation the media was pushing.
I don’t support Donald Trump but I also don’t support journalists lying to their audiences, and when he says (paraphrased) “these pro-war people wouldn’t be talking such a big game if they were on the front lines” it is actually not the same thing as saying they should be shot
