- Decision is a fatal blow for states trying to kick Trump off their ballots in 2024
- They argue he should be barred from office for inciting in an ‘insurrection’
- Trump’s name will now appear on the ballot in Tuesday’s Colorado primary
The Supreme Court unanimously ruled on Monday that Donald Trump can stay on the election ballot in a fatal blow for the states trying to kick him off and just 24 hours before 15 states vote for Super Tuesday.
The 9-0 decision by the conservative-majority court in the high-stakes case means the Republican front-runner’s name will appear on voting slips in the Colorado primary on Tuesday.
It also effectively ends efforts in other states to disqualify him from running in the 2024 general election over claims his conduct on January 6 bars him from office.
