On Tuesday, Ray Epps, the infamous rioter that many have claimed lays at the center of motivating others to storm the Capitol, was charged by the Department of Justice with disruptive or disorderly conduct for his actions on January 6, 2021.
“On or about January 6, 2021, within the District of Columbia, JAMES RAY EPPS, SR. did knowingly, and with intent to impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions, engage in disorderly and disruptive conduct in and within such proximity to, a restricted building and grounds—that is, any posted, cordoned-off, and otherwise restricted area within the United States Capitol and its grounds, where the Vice President was and would be temporarily visiting—when and so that such conduct did in fact impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions, and attempted and conspired to do so,” the charging document reads.
“Let’s see if he’s treated the same as other J6 defendants or if the regime gives him special Fed treatment!” DC Draino wrote on X/Twitter.
“This lame single charge tells us everything we need to know about Ray Epps,” wrote journalist Julie Kelly. “No obstruction felony? No civil disorder charge? Not even a trespassing on restricted grounds misdemeanor? Can’t even tell you the last time I saw an “information” (misdemeanor version of indictment) for a J6er on a sole count. Not sure it exists but will check.”
“A single charge against Ray Epps speaks volumes. No obstruction felony, no civil disorder, not even trespassing? Has a J6er faced just an ‘information’ charge?” Amuse questioned.
“Two and a half years late Ray Epps is charged with ‘disorderly conduct,'” wrote Sebastian Gorka. “No ‘seditious conspiracy.’ No ‘terrorist enhancement.’ I wonder why? I think you know.”
