Robert F Kennedy Jr, who is challenging President Joe Biden for the Democrat nomination in 2024, is set to appear before the Weaponization of the Federal Government Select Subcommittee next month to discuss censorship and free speech.
Kennedy told the subcommittee that he would appear as a witness for a hearing scheduled on July 20, A source familiar with the matter told Breitbart.
While Kennedy is Biden’s leading challenger, he trails the incumbent by around 50 points.
Over the weekend, YouTube removed a video of Kennedy that was featured on Jordan Peterson’s channel, with a spokesperson for the platform saying this was because it violated “YouTube’s general vaccine misinformation policy, which prohibits content that alleges that vaccines cause chronic side effects, outside of rare side effects that are recognized by health authorities.”
Kennedy wrote on Twitter in response, Do you really need Big Tech censors to decide what you should hear? Or would you prefer to be treated as a competent adult who can listen to various viewpoints and come to his or her own conclusions,” adding the hashtag #letRFKspeak.
“It may be that YouTube has broken no laws in this blatant interference in the electoral process. In that case, change will come only through public pressure. That’s democracy in action!”
Instagram had also blocked Kennedy from using his campaign email to create new accounts, resulting in an instant ban when a new account was created. This was later reversed, with Meta Spokesman Andy Stone saying, “As he is now an active candidate for president of the United States, we have restored access to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s Instagram account.”
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
