What do you mean you don’t have $65,000 for a new electric vehicle? – Pete Buttigieg.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg just doesn’t understand why common Americans can’t let go of their gas-powered vehicles in favor of $65,000 electric vehicles.
Gas prices are soaring and inflation rates are crushing American families.
Rather than drilling for oil at home, Joe Biden flew thousands of miles to the Middle East to beg the Saudis for more oil.
Biden came home empty-handed and the price of oil spiked on Monday.
Buttigieg on Wednesday appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box to discuss gas prices.
Buttigieg said, “I’m still astonished that some folks seem to really struggle to let go” of their gas-powered vehicles in favor of electric vehicles.

Last Thursday Pete Buttigieg bragged about high gas prices forcing people to switch to electric vehicles during an appearance on REAL 92.3’s show Big Boy TV.
“We’re for cutting the cost of electric vehicles because when you have an electric vehicle, then you’re also going to be able to save on gas, but you got to be able to afford it in the first place,” Buttigieg said.
“Right now, we’re actually starting to see on some models the costs come to where even if your car payment’s a little higher, your gas payment will be a little lower, and you come out ahead, but the prices still need to come down for most Americans to be able to get an EV.”
