Elon Musk has threatened to pull out of his deal to purchase Twitter as he accuses the social media giant of ‘resisting and thwarting’ his right to information about spam and fake accounts on the platform.
Musk alleged Twitter withholding the requested data was a ‘clear material breach’ of the terms of their merger agreement.
‘Musk reserves all rights resulting therefrom, including his right not to consummate the transaction and his right to terminate the merger agreement,’ his attorney wrote in an SEC filing on Monday.
The SpaceX CEO tweeted last month that he would not move forward with his $44 billion purchase of the social media platform until he received the spam account data.
