It has been apparent since he took office that President Joe Biden and his merry band of Democrats in Congress do not take border security seriously. In fact, the Biden administration’s failure to properly address the migrant crisis has been so pronounced it might make one speculate that he is deliberately allowing hundreds of thousands of migrants to enter the country.
But it is not only Democrats who are to blame for the worsening crisis. On Saturday, I wrote about Rep. Chip Roy’s (R-TX) efforts to get his GOP colleagues to unite in an effort to pressure the White House to take meaningful action to deal with the situation at the southern border.
According to the Washington Examiner, the lawmaker is “circulating a letter among his Republican colleagues trying to garner support for forcing a House vote to reinstate certain Trump-era immigration policies.”
Roy created two discharge petitions for his fellow representatives to sign. One would force Congress to consider proposed legislation to determine whether the White House would be required to enforce Title 42, a public health order that would allow immigration authorities to reject migrants coming to the border amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The other would do the same for the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP). This measure requires migrants to stay in Mexico while awaiting the adjudication of their asylum applications. The Biden administration has been attempting to rescind this Trump-era policy but was halted from doing so by the courts.
While most GOP lawmakers were willing to take up the cause, there are still some who have not signed the petitions. Here are the names of those who have not signed the Title 42 petition:

One of the excuses that some Republicans have made for not getting anything done is that they are in the minority. It is true that the minority party typically is unable to make much happen if the opposing party is in opposition.
