Journalist Owen Shroyer with Infowars has reportedly been sent back to solitary confinement at FCI Oakdale prison after a phone call of himself sending a message to his followers was posted to his X account.

In the phone call, posted to his account on Tuesday morning, Shroyer expressed his gratitude for the letters that have come in for him, saying “I can’t tell you how much they mean to me.”

Shroyer revealed that he had been let out of solitary confinement after spending a week there. Shroyer had been placed in solitary confinement as a result of the prison’s Covid intake policies.

“My life on the outside of the inside begins today,” Shroyer said, noting that it had been sunny the entire time he was in solitary confinement but the weather turned to cold and rain the minute he was let out. Despite this, the weather felt “probably just as refreshing as the sun would have felt.”

Shroyer said that he hoped to host a radio show from inside the federal prison.

Shroyer was sentenced to 60 days in prison in response to being on Capitol grounds on January 6, 2021. He did not enter the building, but was said to have violated a previous deferred prosecution agreement that forbade the journalist from using “loud, threatening, or abusive language, or to engage in any disorderly or disruptive conduct, at any place upon the United States Capitol Grounds.”

Court documents state that Shroyer had allegedly completed 30 of the 32 hours of community service required by the deferred prosecution agreement, which was reached in January of 2020 after he “shouted in a loud manner” in a December 2019 House Judiciary Committee hearing.

Prosecutors, who sought a 120-day sentence, claimed during the trial that Shroyer “spread election disinformation paired with violent rhetoric” to viewers in the months leading up to January 6.

“Shroyer did not step foot inside the Capitol, he did not need to; many of those who listened to him did instead. In the aftermath, he has blamed ‘Antifa’ and told his followers: ‘We should have been proud of what happened.'”
