Republican Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene on Saturday accused Democratic Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar of marriage fraud and supporting terrorism.
Greene’s accusations followed Omar’s Friday tweet accusing Greene of hypocrisy for wearing a mask on a flight despite publicly opposing mask mandates. Omar’s tweet was in response to another person’s tweet accusing Greene of using taxpayer funds to fly first class on Delta airlines.
“Damn autocorrect, every time I try to type your name it keeps correcting to Brotherf***er,” Greene wrote in a Saturday afternoon tweet that tagged Omar. “@IlhanMNÂ marriage fraud is a felony. Free upgrades are nice on airlines, but marrying your bother to give him an upgrade is a felony I look forward to make sure is investigated.”

Omar’s Friday tweet criticizing Greene stated, “I love how [Greene] walks around railing against mask mandates but time and time again complies when no one is paying attention. Typical hypocrite cult leader.” The tweet included an image of Greene wearing a mask while seated on a Delta airline flight.
In a second tweet published on Saturday morning, Omar criticized Greene’s new political ad in which Greene declares, “In 2022, I’m going to blow away the Democrats‘ socialist agenda.”
The political ad then shows Greene looking through the scope of a 50-caliber rifle to shoot a car with the word “socialism” written on its side. After shooting the car, it blows apart in a fiery explosion. Then, Greene tells viewers to sign up for an online drawing to win the rifle.
Omar criticized Greene’s ad, writing, “This is sick and dangerous. It should be disturbing to all that Republicans can’t engage in political discourse without constantly threatening violence in their campaign ads.”

In response to Omar’s criticism, Greene wrote, “You’re sick & dangerous.
You promoted, financially supported, & bailed out violent domestic terrorists who literally burned down your own city, causing billions in damage to poor vulnerable communities. In ’22, I’m going to investigate & remove you for supporting terrorism.”
Greene’s tweet included a video that showed Omar stating, “We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it.”
The video then shows footage of politicians such as Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Vice President Kamala Harris and Representative Maxine Waters speaking in favor of racial justice uprisings. Their words are intercut with footage of burning cars, detonating explosives and racial justice protesters attacking white people in public.

In an April 20 tweet, Greene called Black Lives Matter “the strongest terrorist threat in our county.” However, during the Trump presidency, the Department of Homeland Security said that white supremacist extremists pose the “most persistent and lethal threat to the homeland.”
There is no evidence either proving or disproving that Omar is married to her brother, the fact-checking organization PolitiFact reported. Proving her current husband’s ancestry is difficult because “there are not a lot of available public records from their home country” of Somalia, reported Minneapolis Star-Tribune’s Kevin Diaz.
PolitiFact also noted that Omar had jointly filed her 2014 and 2015 taxes with her current husband while still married to her previous husband. Public records reportedly showed that, at one point in time, all three individuals lived at the same U.S. address.
