Newsom’s ‘woke-end’: In just two days, California governor signs into law free menstrual products for girls, mandates ethnic studies, requires stores to have gender neutral areas and bans gas-powered lawnmowers
- Governor Gavin Newsom has signed several notable bills into law in recent days
- They include a bill that will see California public schools and colleges stocking their restrooms with free menstrual productsÂ
- In another ‘woke’ bill, large department stores must now display products including toys and toothbrushes in gender-neutral ways
- It does not completely outlaw traditional boys and girls sections at stores but says large stores must also have a gender neutral section to displayÂ
- On Saturday Newsom signed off on a new law banning gas-powered equipment that uses small off-road enginesÂ
- Gas-powered equipment includes generators, lawn equipment, pressure washers, chainsaws, weed trimmers and even golf cartsÂ
- Under the new law the machinery will have to be battery-powered or plug-inÂ
- Newsom has also signed into law America’s first ethnic studies requirement for high school students after five years of debateÂ
- Students who begin high school in 2026 must pass one semester of a class outlining the past and current struggles of America’s marginalized groupsÂ
