Paul Pelosi on Wednesday pleaded not guilty to two counts of driving under the influence, two months after his arrest in Napa County, California
The 82-year-old husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi did not appear in court for his arraignment and was instead represented by his lawyer
The 10-minute hearing concluded with a settlement conference being scheduled for August 23
Pelosi was arrested by California Highway Patrol in Yountville on May 28 while driving to his St. Helena home after a boozy dinner and found to have a .08% BAC
He was attempting to cross State Road 29 when he slammed into a 2014 Jeep driven by Jesus Lopez, 48, and totaled his Porsche
At the time, wife Nancy Pelosi was on official business in Rhode Island at the time and swiftly distanced herself from the incident
The House Speaker is currently on a tour of the Far East, which included her controversial visit to Taiwan on Tuesday, and is set to travel to South Korea today
