- Raffaela Spone, 50, allegedly created ‘deepfake’ images and videos of three girls on her daughter’s cheer team
- The girls had allegedly fallen out with Spone’s daughter, and Spone is said to have wanted revenge
- She is accused of using ‘deepfake’ technology to produce doctored photos showing the girls ‘naked, drinking and smoking’
- Spone then sent allegedly the libelous snaps to the cheer team’s coaches in a bid to have them booted off the team
- The meddling mom has now been charged with cyber harassment; her daughter is not believed to have known what she was up to
‘Deepfaking’ is the process of doctoring an existing image, but it is more sophisticated than Photoshop because it uses a form of artificial intelligence.
