The House on Thursday evening voted mainly along party lines to remove GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committee assignments, taking an unprecedented step to discipline a member over past incendiary remarks that include elevating conspiracy theories.
In a 230-199 vote, Greene will lose spots on the House Committee on Education and Labor as well as the House Budget Committee. Democrats especially sought her removal from the Education Committee because of past comments suggesting mass school shootings are staged and recently surfaced footage showing her mocking a survivor from the 2018 Parkland, Florida, school shooting.Eleven Republicans joined all Democrats in supporting her removal:
