When the third-party candidates are named, Trump leads Biden 37 to 34 percent, with Rovert F Kennedy Jr gaining the most support among the third-party candidates at 10 percent.
Trump has the majority of the Hispanic vote, with 39 percent supporting the former president over Biden, who garnered 34 percent support. In 2020, Biden drew in 65 percent of the vote in the group, double the 32 percent Trump received.
Trump now also leads among voters under the age of 35, with 37 percent of these voters supporting Trump compared to 33 percent supporting Biden.
The survey was conducted of 1,000 likely US voters between December 26 and 29, and has a margin of error of 3.1 percent.
The poll found that Trump has 12 percent of the support of black voters, exactly what he had during the 2020 election.
“Although Trump hasn’t grown support among Black voters, he has closed the deficit because third-party voters come off of Biden’s support among blacks,” said David Paleologos, director of Suffolk’s Political Research Center. “A young voter or a person of color voting ‘third party’ is a vote away from President Biden, and a vote away from President Biden is a vote for Donald Trump.”
Having voters describe their level of enthusiasm for their candidate, 44 percent of Trump supporters described their enthusiasm as a “10” out of 10, while just 18 percent of Biden supporters described themselves the same way.
