Donald Trump recently said it would be an “interesting” idea for him to run for a Florida seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022.
And former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon thinks it can happen.
During an interview on The War Room podcast, Bannon and Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene discussed Trump not running for Congress but being elected the next Speaker of the House in 2022 if Republicans take back the House.
“Our concept is that we’re going to have a sweeping victory, you can already see the momentum building in 2022. And our theory of the case is Donald Trump does not need to run for Congress and should not run for Congress as an individual congressman,” Bannon said.
“That’s ridiculous. What Donald Trump should do is after we win a sweeping victory, the House members should vote him as Speaker of the House, at least for some interim period of time. Not Kevin McCarthy, Donald Trump,” he added.
Bannon concluded: “Where Donald Trump takes the gavel from Nancy Pelosi and he immediately move to impeach Joe Biden.”

Over the weekend, Trump said it would be an “interesting” idea for him to run for a Florida seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022.
Conservative booster Rogan O’Handley, better known as “D.C. Draino,” put forth an idea to take things a step further.
The scenario, which O’Handley freely admits is crazy, is to have Trump impeach President Joe Biden.
• Trump runs for the House of Representatives for Florida in ’22.
• A “red wave” brings the House under the control of Republicans.
• Trump is elected speaker of the House, replacing Nancy Pelosi.
• Boom, he then controls a branch of the federal government and can push to impeach Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
• As the speaker of the House, Trump would be next in line for the presidency.
• According to the 22nd Amendment, he could still run for POTUS in 2024.
Back in February, Bannon said Trump will come roaring back to solidify his place as the leader of the Republican Party.
“Going forward, we can transform the Republican Party into more of a MAGA movement … just immerse the (Make America Great Again) movement with the Republican Party, and we’re going to have massive victories in the future,” Bannon said.
Bannon even floated the idea of Trump becoming a member of the Congress, becoming Speaker of the House in 2022, and then impeaching Joe Biden.
“Trump is a disruptor, but he has a long-term vision because I absolutely believe in the marrow of my bones that he will be our nominee in 2024,” Bannon later added. “He’ll come back to us. We’ll have a sweeping victory in 2022, and he’ll lead us in 2024.”
“We totally get rid of Nancy Pelosi, and the first act of President Trump as speaker will be to impeach Joe Biden for his illegitimate activities of stealing the presidency,” Bannon said.
Bannon told the crowd that they “need to confront this radical Biden administration every day.
