Democrats are all-in on Pennsylvania Senator-to-be John Fetterman, and if you thought it was weird enough that someone with actual brain damage got elected, then hang on to your hats because this is about to get much weirder.

MSNBC’s election night was filled to the brim with relatively relaxed and pleased Democrats, one of whom was MSNBC host Katy Tur. Leaning back, arms folded, and with a sly smile on her face, Tur wondered aloud if maybe Fetterman has a future in the Oval Office given his performance in the red parts of Pennsylvania.

“Fetterman as a nominee at some point for President,” began Tur. “I know there are some variables, obviously.”

“What he did in the super-red, deep-red parts of Pennsylvania, and the way that he ran ahead of Biden as we were saying, and the way that he ran ahead of Trump, I mean, it makes you wonder about his future.”

To be clear, Fetterman has no business being in office at all. The man suffered a stroke not that long ago, and you can see its outward effect on him. He has a hard time keeping track of what he’s talking about and ends up saying bizarre things. He sounds more like a babbling toddler with a grown man’s voice than someone who has it together.

The bottom line is that Fetterman does not have it together enough to run his office without assistance, and that’s assistance we’re not electing. Those people are being chosen by other outside forces and none of these people answer to us, the citizens granting one man the power of the people.

If you’re an authoritarian with grand designs for a more authoritarian state, you salivate at the idea of a man who can’t run his own office being elected because it gives you the chance to step in and run it in the background. This might sound a bit conspiracy theorist, but it’s the logical truth. Fetterman is not going to run his office. He doesn’t have the cognitive capacity to do so. Others will have to do it for him, and they don’t have to face you for their action.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Fetterman candidacy in the future. Democrats already elected a man who has no business being in the oval office due to his cognitive decay, so it’s not that much of a stretch to think they’d put Fetterman up as an option.

If they do, when you see Fetterman know that what you’re really considering is putting a group of people behind him in power.
