Joe Biden’s Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg bragged about high gas prices forcing people to switch to electric vehicles during an interview on Thursday.
Buttigieg made the comments during an appearance on REAL 92.3’s show Big Boy TV.
During the interview, the out of touch politician did at least admit that most Americans cannot afford an electric vehicle — especially if they’re already hurting from Biden’s record high gas prices.

“We’re for cutting the cost of electric vehicles because when you have an electric vehicle, then you’re also going to be able to save on gas, but you got to be able to afford it in the first place,” Buttigieg said. Right now, we’re actually starting to see on some models the costs come to where even if your car payment’s a little higher, your gas payment will be a little lower, and you come out ahead, but the prices still need to come down for most Americans to be able to get an EV.”
Buttigieg also recently laughed and joked about the gas prices during an appearance on Fox News.
Neil Cavuto: "Half of that increase [in gas prices] started prior to the first Russian soldiers arriving near Ukraine. You can't blame it all on Ukraine, right?"

In March, Buttigieg was roasted for saying that “people from rural, to suburban, to urban communities can all benefit from the gas savings of driving an EV.”
Instead of addressing the skyrocketing gas prices, Buttigieg just wants you to buy a new car.
