  • Biden has again rejected the former president’s invocation of executive privilege on hundreds of additional pages
  • House committee investigating the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol has ‘deferred’ its requests for several dozen pages of Trump administration records 
  • President Biden determined Trump’s effort to keep a new batch of January 6 records out of Congress’ hands ‘is not in the best interests of the United States.’ 
  • Trump filed a lawsuit last week attempting to block the January 6 committee from obtaining the first batch of documents from the National Archives.
  • The committee is composed of seven Democrats and two Republican 
  • Lawsuit argues the committee has no power of investigation and therefore its subpoena is invalid
  • Trump also insisted that the records were protected by ‘executive privilege’
