BREAKING NEWS – All Democrats and 9 Republicans vote to hold Steve Bannon in CONTEMPT of Congress for defying January 6 subpoena: Biden’s DOJ will now decide whether to criminally charge Trump adviser
- The House voted 229-202 on Thursday to hold Steve Bannon in contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena to testify before the 1/6 committee
- Nine Republicans joined all 220 Democrats to vote in favor of the resolution
- Bannon argued that Donald Trump’s lawyers instructed him not to testify on the grounds of executive privilege
- The resolution will be sent to acting US Attorney for DC Channing Phillips to decide whether to bring charges against Bannon
- Attorney General Merrick Garland would not commit during a Judiciary hearing Thursday to bring criminal contempt charges against Bannon
- Instead said the Justice Department will ‘follow the facts’
