About twenty people have been arrested after widespread looting broke out in Philadelphia last night, with one woman who livestreamed the chaos.

Police in the city said that a large group of around 100 juveniles kept moving from store to store and looting them.

Videos shared on social media show officers attempting to grab thieves, some of whom are wearing Halloween masks, as they run riot through a Lululemon store.

One officer manages to hit one of the looters with a punch after managing to tackle them to the ground, in social media footage.

The incident happened on Walnut Street in the heart of the city center and also involved a nearby Foot Locker and Apple store.

Police in the city said that they had so far made between 15 to 20 arrests and recovered two firearms from the scenes.

Footage shows bikes and piles of merchandise piled up on the sidewalk outside of the Lululemon branch as officers arrived on the scene and started making arrests.

One woman, Dayjia Blackwell, had been livestreaming the chaos in the city onto her Instagram page and sharing clips of the looting, seemingly encouraging it.

Much to her dismay, social media users posted videos of what they described as Blackwell also later being apprehended by police officers while livestreaming.

Police are yet to confirm whether she was arrested or charged after the widespread crime spree.

Footage captured of her seemingly being handcuffed by officers was shared onto social media.

Prior to that, Blackwell had been sharing videos of the robberies onto her social media page.

Earlier footage from the Apple store shows the aftermath of the looting, with iPhones and other electronic goods seemingly ripped from their display stands.

What appears to be staff members can be seen standing around looking bemused.

Fox News reporter Steve Keeley also shared footage showing the fallout of the looting.

Officers can be seen placing handcuffs on one man, as they guard the exterior of the store.

Numerous people can be heard shouting in the background as he is led to the rear of a police van.
