The last 24 hours have not been the best display of work by the communications people in the Biden White House. As we shared on Friday, many people had a problem with the rules for an activity scheduled as part of the annual Easter Egg Roll event:

This year, they’re holding an Easter egg design contest for the children of National Guard members. The theme is supposed to be celebrating National Guard families. But, guess what is forbidden in the designs? Any religious mention of Easter on the egg.

The rules for the contest state that an Easter egg design submission “must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements.”

Next, as we wrote earlier on Saturday, possibly even more controversy erupted after the WH’s special proclamation that Sunday should be celebrated, not as Easter but as “Transgender Visibility Day”:

Some folks also noticed the proclamation they put out on Good Friday to recognize the special day on March 31. Except the day that the White House and Biden were recognizing with the proclamation wasn’t Easter; it was Transgender Visibility Day.

Since President Biden has already skipped town for yet another vacation, we haven’t heard any follow-up excuses or explanations from the usual folks at the White House. Team Trump hopped to it on Saturday, though, by releasing a statement on X, blasting both of the terrible moves connected to Easter:
